If a Cranfield researcher leaves and goes to work at another university that uses Symplectic Elements, would they be able to take their profile with them?

Answer

Not really, because each instance of Elements is defined and unique to an individual institution. The data for the profiles is being provided by the HR system feed, and then added to from various other sources such as the publications information to create the whole profile. However, if researchers ensure they have an ORCID (and they really should as it is Cranfield policy to do so), this will be a key source of porting a lot of their profile information over, especially the publications. That should be helpful whether your next institution has Elements or another CRIS system.
